Gilbert and Gregson Provide Support to Green Care at Norton with New Growing Beds

Gilbert & Gregson were proud to support local charity Green Care at Norton CIC by constructing new potato growing beds at their site at Standalone Farm at no cost to the organisation.

The work was carried out by Gilbert and Gregson apprentice Albie, who spent time on site building the beds to help create additional growing space for the charity’s horticulture programme.

Green Care at Norton is a social and therapeutic horticulture project based in Letchworth that supports people experiencing loneliness, social isolation, disabilities or barriers to employment. Through gardening and growing food together, the charity helps participants develop practical skills, confidence and wellbeing.

The new beds will expand the charity’s growing capacity, helping increase the amount of food produced on site and creating more opportunities for participants to take part in therapeutic gardening.

Green Care at Norton operates an allotment garden at Standalone Farm, providing a safe and welcoming environment where participants can learn new skills, grow food and build friendships.
