Complete Home Renovation in Hitchin

Project Overview

This extensive home renovation in Hitchin has transformed the property into a bright, contemporary and beautifully finished family home.

The project involved carefully reconfiguring and upgrading the interior to create more open, connected living spaces while retaining warmth and character throughout. From the striking open-plan kitchen to the newly finished bedrooms and bathrooms, every area has been completed with close attention to detail.

Creating a Light-Filled Living Space

At the heart of the renovation is a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area designed for modern family life.

Large glazed doors, windows and rooflights allow natural light to flood the space, while the exposed structural steelwork and timber features add character and give the room a distinctive architectural finish.

The bespoke kitchen combines natural wood cabinetry, light worktops and dark tiled detailing to create a warm but contemporary look. A generous central island provides additional preparation space and creates a natural focal point for the room.

Characterful Finishes

Thoughtful materials and finishes have been used throughout the property to bring the different spaces together.

The patterned hallway tiles make an immediate statement, while the timber staircase and exposed brickwork introduce warmth and texture. Soft neutral tones are complemented by carefully selected feature colours, including the deep green walls within the bedrooms.

The bathrooms feature a combination of contemporary fittings, freestanding sanitaryware, natural wood furniture and blue-and-white tiling, creating practical spaces with plenty of personality.

The Finished Result

The completed renovation has created a light, spacious and welcoming home that balances contemporary design with characterful details.

Each room has been carefully considered to ensure the property feels connected, practical and beautifully finished. The result is another stunning home renovation that the Gilbert & Gregson team is proud to have delivered.
